re:CREATE NEWSLETTER |

To assist with our community’s solid waste reduction goals, and to provide an outlet for the entities that have unwanted, non-hazardous items, and those non-profits and schools that need them; we developed this innovative and unique program. HOW DOES IT WORK? Simple! Schools and non-profit organizations throughout the YSU area, including Trumbull and Mahoning Counties, may phone 330-941-2238 to place their request for the items listed in the newsletter. They are responsible for arranging transportation to get the materials, and must promise to reuse the items and not sell nor dispose of them. They should phone the re:CREATE manager, Sarah Ellis, with an estimate of the amount of material they received (example: School X got 300 shoe boxes from Store Y, and 5 berry baskets from Store Z on this date…) Also, retail and wholesale establishments and other entities that have unwanted, non-hazardous materials like those listed, may phone Sarah to list their items. Schools and non-profits are responsible for getting the materials from the supplier unless other arrangements are made. They are also responsible for communicating to re:CREATE the amount of material received and on what date. If an item needed is not listed, call so that re:CREATE can locate it. All materials received must be used in an environmentally responsible fashion, not discarded inappropriately, and cannot be sold. |
